The promise of a phone card.

January 31st, 2008 |

There are numerous benefits of using prepaid phone cards. These cards give you a lot of value judging by the talking time if used properly.

You may want to look at International Voyager or some other providers. And yet there are a number of challenges in locating the best phone card that I am going to address in this article. Long-distance calling cards may be made for any country, you may easily locate Indonesia phone cards.

Talks that involve prepaid cards are a lot less expensive than paying for standard phone conversations. Long-distance or local calls can be significantly less expensive if you decide using a calling card.

Another noticeable advantage of phone calling cards is that you can call from any telephone, even your mobile friend. You will be able to make internationals calls at a laughable cost from nearly any telephone unit. International phone cards are especially enjoyed by those who travel a lot and by foreign students who enjoy calling home every week. Some of my friends especially like the fact that the calls you make using calling cards are hard if at all possible to trace back to you. Superb, isn't it? However, when you are planning to buy some dirt cheap phone cards, do not go too fast. Even though the costs can be the lowest available, there are some additional charges. Because of that doing a bit of research prior to buying any calling cards is a good idea. The first thing that people look at when they acquire prepaid phone cards is the rate. In a number of cases the rate that is printed in big type is not the rate the provider is going to charge you. How does it happen, you might ask. The answer lies in additional charges. Some international phone cards charge you a connection or disconnection fee. A connection fee is the amount that is taken from your phone card every time the connection is made. The ?hang-up? charge is much rarer. It is charged after the conversation. One more hidden tariff with calling cards is aka monthly charge the company takes from you card. It might start on a definite date or immediately after the first call was made. If you are not a regular telephone user, getting such a card is not a smart idea.

Some companies do multiple minute rounding which is one extra surcharge calling card holders have to pay. Usually, phone companies approximate each connection time to the next minute. And yet in some instances, your talking time can be approximated to 5 or even 10 minutes. Thus, for example, if the rounding is to the next five minutes, you may talk for 7 minutes and be charged for 10. Studying inexpensive phone cards may not sound like fun, but when you find the right provider you want to trust, you will be rewarded with more communication opportunities with your spouse, intimate friends and your in-laws.
