The Difference between Online Gambling and Online Trading.

December 1st, 2007 |

Who of Them is the Bad Guy?

As the US Illegal Internet Gambling Act is broadcasting the news on money and the Internet, many wonder what the real difference between online gaming and e-commerce is.

Let us take two people sitting in their workplaces both risking their money on Internet, while one of them is violating the legislative norms, the other one is not. One of these men is a day trader, and with no respect to how you take that, that businessman is venturing his funds for the risk to have an interest of each transaction. I guess that both these men are using the Internet for one aim. Nevertheless, the one that is gambling online is currently participating in a prohibited industry. Why criminal? Because Government of the US is not getting a cent of the income from the the army of online gamblers. The Government only levies tax money from the day e-seller.

Each day residents of the USA lose several million dollars on trading marketable investments, not situated in Wall Street offices, but from their own apartments. Those normal people are not trained stock brokers, and they do not have any license - despite all this they face no legal difficulties to carry on their illegal business.

As a matter of fact, the single real differing feature between day trading and online gaming is the amount of money the US Government profits from the businesses: Trading on internet = large revenues; Online Gambling = not a single cent and lots of casino bonus for gamblers. Today they say that the US Congress is working on the anti-online gambling forbidding law for the exact reason that they are not profiting from millions of dollars spent every day.

The US Government is reported to have said that banned online gambling to save American people from a hazardous pastime - and ruin families by making players go bankrupt. But they continue to allow unlicensed persons to trade stocks, that are not online. Maybe no one remembers the reason, why skyscrapers in New York have windows that can not be pulled up or opened: it was made on purpose to prevent all the day traders from plummeting to their death after losing it all!

Traders usually get advice from person, and sometimes they merely guess and place orders as luck would have it. In the past all people were investing and making a lot of money, until this bubble exploded and so many people lost everything they had and were left with just a pile of debts.

If online gamers are famous for something, it's holding an interest in what they do. Almost nobody gambles on Internet on a consistent basis without studying the games they play, various special ways, the statistics and the art of gambling. When online gamblers improve, they play with others at a higher level in top online casinos, but no beginner is forced to play poker with professionals.

There are real people today live on gambling online. Amateur players earn up to $10,000 a month, and while still they are not the majority, they are the best of the best. All poker professionals are by this time officially out of work because of the new online gambling ban, and negative casino review in the web. And gambling professionals aren't the only ones suffering. Many people around the world are losing their jobs because of the cutbacks in the online gambling industry.

If the US Government is willing to save the people from loosing millions of dollars, so why do they still let the legalized form of gambling called online trading ruin the lives of average people?
